Hey! I'm Samantha and this is my space dedicated to health, fitness, nutrition and everything wellness related.

I live in Boston where I'm a fitness instructor and grad student. I'm studying nutrition to become a Registered Dietitian. I've been dreaming for a long time about working in the health and fitness industry, so I'm making it happen. :)

Here's a little background about me:

I grew up in a small town in Connecticut. As long as I can remember I've always been active and on the move. I have memories of getting the neighborhood kids together for games of tag and capture the flag. My siblings and I all played sports and we loved to spend as much time as possible outside and on the go.

In 2013 I graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in communications and moved to Boston. I was hired for my first "adult" job working at a market research agency. For the first time in my life I was not on a team or playing a sport. My focus became work and I didn't make time for fitness. Not surprisingly, I felt unsatisfied. In July 2014 one of my friends introduced me to Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide program. I was immediately intrigued, but it took me months of scrolling through pictures on Instagram before I finally decided to commit to the workouts. In October 2014 I started BBG. I've since done the first and second guides twice.

After a full year of BBG I wanted to explore other types of workouts. I started taking tons of different classes; from spin to barre to bootcamps to boxing to yoga to hip hop--you name it. It was a blast! I loved it so much that in February 2016 I decided to get certified as a spin instructor. By this point people at work could tell I was very passionate about health and fitness. It was pretty much all I wanted to talk about and spend my time doing. I think it was obvious I was ready to make a career change, but in March 2016 I was let go from my job. Although I had wanted to leave anyway, it was still a blow to my self-esteem. There's a difference between leaving a job and being told to leave, you know?

But, as they say, it was the best thing that could have happen to me. I did odd jobs for a bit so I could pay the bills, although my goal was to teach fitness classes. And not too long after I was hired as a spin instructor! I knew I wanted to teach more than just spin, so I became a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM to make myself more versatile. I now teach spin and bootcamp classes at Equinox and BFX. 

Around the same time I started teaching fitness classes I also became fascinated with nutrition and how it plays such a huge role in our health. After a lot of research, and I mean A LOT, I decided to go back to school to become a Registered Dietitian. I'm studying at Simmons College. I'll be honest; it's been difficult so far, but I know it'll be so worth it in the long run!
